Project Rx

Project Rx provides prescription medications for those who have no other means to obtain the much needed medications. Individuals are screened by our Information & Referral specialists, and once your specific needs are determined, assistance begins.

232-HELP has relationships with pharmacies in the ten parishes within our coverage area. Patients are directed to take their prescriptions to a participating pharmacy who will fill the prescription at no cost to the patient. 232-HELP is billed at a discounted rate.
Referrals come from social workers, hospitals, individual doctors and the patients themselves. Project Rx is funded by individual donations and 232-HELP’s fundraising activities.

While each case is viewed individually, some restrictions apply:

  • Project Rx provides a yearly maximum of $50 for individuals and $100 per household.

  • Controlled substances or nonessential medications are not covered.

  • Generics are preferred when available.

  • Income restrictions apply.
