Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer at 232-HELP:
Description: Finding help can often be the hardest part of getting it. 232-HELP/LA 211 is always looking for volunteers to help Community Care Navigators with special projects and when call volume is expected to be high (i.e. in times of emergency, during heating season, food pantry intakes and for special projects). Volunteers will also assist with the programs’ follow-up, quality assurance process on a monthly basis. Volunteer to be the first person people call when they need help.
For further information about volunteer opportunities, please contact Nikki Bellard at Nikki@232-help.org or call 337-232-4357.
Volunteer Louisiana
The Volunteer Louisiana Commission manages the statewide online volunteer portal VolunteerLouisiana.gov. This third-party network connects Louisiana’s citizens and out-of-state volunteers with opportunities throughout the state.
In 2005, the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness designated the Volunteer Louisiana Commission as the lead agency responsible for Spontaneous Volunteer Management in the event of a disaster or emergency. The VolunteerLouisiana.gov portal serves as the management system for all volunteers wanting to offer assistance and service organizations requesting voluntary assistance during times of crisis.
For local volunteer opportunities, call 211 or (337) 232-4357 to locate resources.
